Our Mission
Our mission is to provide girls in 5th through 8th Grades within the Lakes Community High School district an environment to develop their basketball skills and participate in a competitive league at various levels. Inspire players to be confident, display sportsmanship, and embrace teamwork.
Who is Eligible
All girls that live in High School District 117 and plan on attending Lakes Community High School are eligible to participate. We have teams at each of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels. Our objective is to challenge the ability of the girls and to continue their personal growth.
History of the Program
The Lakes Jr Eagles Girls Basketball program has been in existence since around 2005. Most of the current and past Lakes Community High School players have participated in this program. The program runs primarily on a volunteer basis with all positions supporting the betterment of the program. Fees are charged to cover practice and game gym time, tournaments, IHSA Certified referee fees, website, league and miscellaneous expenses necessary to run the program.
